In July 2021 Adelaide PHN ceased fax and adopted the use of secure messaging for referrals triaged through our Central Referral Unit (CRU). Since then, there has been a great response to the use of secure messaging from general practice, with an increase of 120% of GPs using HealthLink to refer into the CRU.

SA Health is working towards activating practices to receive clinical documents via HealthLink. Our team has been supporting those practices with activation. Within the Adelaide PHN region, 74% of practices are now receiving clinical documents directly into their clinical information software.
