Supporting immunisation programs across our region

96% of all children and 97% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are fully immunised at five years

We continue to commission providers to ensure immunisation support is available for consumers and the local primary health care workforce across our region.

As part of this, 1,166 occasions of support were delivered to community members and immunisation providers across Adelaide in 2021/2022.

A primary focus throughout the year was providing COVID-19 and influenza vaccination support and education to consumers and primary health care providers. The delivery of immunisation training ensured the workforce was skilled in the safe management and administration of COVID-19 and influenza vaccines, in addition to other scheduled vaccines.

We also funded eight education sessions relating to the delivery of immunisations, with 202 providers attending.

Alongside this, our providers continue to work towards increasing childhood and community vaccination rates by providing education sessions and resources to support informed community decision making.

Across our region, 96% of all children and 97% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are fully immunised at five years.
